My devotions were published in the summer issue of Pathways to God, a devotional for the Church of God. I've written for this editor since 2003. One of my favorites are:
“The Lord heard Elijah’s cry, and the boy’s life returned to him,
and he lived.”
1 Kings 17:22
God hears the cries of His
children. If we will continually trust in His sovereignty over our families, He
will never forsake us. Each new day is filled with His amazing love – so we may
live confidently – full of deep abiding joy.
He knows everything we are facing
– and hears the cries of the hurting, rescuing them by His power. We need to
feel God’s presence focusing on Him rather than our problems. When we are
grateful for all He has done, His perfect peace will replace our worry and
fear.
Trust the Lord that your loved
ones will develop a steadfast faith by the powerful indwelling of the Holy
Spirit.
Praying sacrificially is the most
effective method of expressing our fervency to the Lord. As we pray for our
healing, let us also ask God to cleanse us from anything sinful in our hearts
that might hinder our prayers.
The prayers of those with a pure heart are so aromatic to
God.
Devotions are written tight with only about 160 words. A Scripture is assigned to the devotion with a date. These are short and to the point. If interested in writing devotions there are many on line. Google devotional writing and see the guidelines. Time to get busy and I always look forward to writing on assignment.
