Good Friday

Are you experiencing any set backs?  Any problems that seem bigger than you can handle?  If so, remember before the miracle of the Resurrection came Good Friday, the day that we remember our Lord’s death on the cross.

What was good about Jesus’ betrayal by trusted friends?  His feeling of abandonment in the Garden, and agonizing in Gethsemane?  Having a phony demoralizing trial?  Hearing Peter deny Him?  Being sentenced to a criminal’s death?  Being spit upon and taunted by His captors?  Suffering a severe beating?  Going without sleep in the Garden of Gethsemane?  Carrying a heavy cross?  Enduring the torture of the crucifixion?  Feeling utterly forsaken?  That is not our idea of a Good Friday.  What makes it good is that He did it for us.   Jesus Christ, the beloved Son of God walked out of that cold tomb and right into our life.   And God took the worst that could happen and made it a wonderful gift to mankind.  The most important thing is He is not in a tomb.  “He is not here; he has risen.”  Luke 24:6

Christ had gone through even more that what we may be experiencing and He had been victorious.  There is victory in the cross; All of us need to succeed, to go over the top, to reach our goals, to have the ability to amount to something.  Reconciliation with God is the beginning of all your victory.

Let’s forget about our problems and remember what Christ did for us.  Reach out to someone who truly needs the touch of the Master.
