Peace in the Midst of the Storm

"Peace, I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27

As we celebrate Independence Day this week may we remember all those who have served our country. Our church had a special service yesterday recognizing all of our military.

One of the stories in my book is about a young wife who discovers she is expecting again, their third child.

Her husband walks in the door and calmly says: "I received orders for overseas and will leave next week; but can not tell you where I'll be as it is classified information."

These are the kinds of traumas that are facing our military families. How do they cope? They pray and seek God for divine guidance.

Talking with a friend, she tells me "This is what we signed up for...I feel proud that our family is serving our country."

How  can we have peace that Christ longs for us to have? We must search the Scriptures with all our heart and cling to them.

I placed copies of Keepers of the Flame in libraries in hope that this book would help military families. The library clerk at Robins AFB had these books placed in libraries in many of the bases in the U.S. and overseas.
