Before
Eve was formed, God commanded Adam not to eat from the tree of the garden. Adam knew better yet he still ate of the
fruit. “And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree
in the garden; but you must not eat from
the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly
die.” Genesis 2:16-17
Eve was active with the world around
her. She explored the garden, dialogued
with the devil, ate the forbidden fruit, and liked it enough to share with
Adam. Adam allowed Eve to persuade him
to eat the forbidden fruit. This was his
first big mistake. If only both Adam and
Eve had obeyed God our lives today would be quite different.
If we
can learn anything from them, we know we are God’s people, and are to be about
his business doing what He has called us to do. We each one have a purpose to fulfill.
We are to obey God and move forward serving
Him. Then and only then can we become
the servants of the most high accomplishing His plan. And is there any greater
reward than this?
Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were
serving the Lord, not men, because you know that the Lord will reward everyone
for whatever good he does, whether he is slave or free.” Ephesians
6:7-8
Joel Osteen wrote in Your Best Life Now, “It is as important to learn how to receive a
blessing as it is to be willing to give one.”
God had blessed Adam and Eve with all they
would ever need. But it was not enough. They had two sons Cain and Abel - Cain killed Abel because of jealously. Read, meditate, and study the book of Genesis
to learn more about Eve.
Women can be both creative and
destructive. The story of Eve teaches us to weigh our
choices carefully. Use wisdom with our desires.
