My writing ministry began about 30 years ago when I felt God speaking to my heart to write for Him. I was reading my Bible and opened to Jeremiah 30:2 “I want you to write every word I have spoken to you in a book.”
I had never written anything but a few letters. Yet, I knew in my heart to move forward. I rented a typewriter and started writing drafts about personal experiences in my life. I enrolled in a Writer’s Digest Nonfiction class and studied the craft of writing. A professional editor reviewed my work. He stated: “Write what you know.”
God opened many doors. Soon after completing this class, I started writing a column in the local newspaper. I attended the Florida Christian Writer’s Conference each year for about 20 years. I met many writer friends, editors, and publishers. They encouraged me to write, edit, and pursue writing with all my heart. At the workshops, the teachers would discuss various ideas, concepts and insight on writing for Christian publications.
Writing is a journey - perseverance and endurance is the key to getting published. Write each day - even if in a journal. My devotionals and magazine articles have been published in God’s Word for Today, Pathways to God, The Christian Pulse, The Upper Room, Devo-Zine, Pentecostal Evangel and Light and Life magazine. My books Scripture Woven Prayers and Happy New You are on amazon. com and Barnes and Noble.
